Woke up this morning in my own bed for the last time in probably five weeks. Heading back to hop on segment seven and go to Durango. Very distracted, so much so that my driving was awful and I had to let Becky take over! Many, many things going on in the back of my mind. Did I bring everything, wild fires, water sources, campsites. Ug! Just get me to the trail!
I’m back n the trail! Now I head out for awhile. The plan is to hike all the remaining segments in order, stopping every five or six days to rest and re-supply. The blog may become a bit more intermittent given the availability of cell signal an WiFi. Also, it will probably be a little “rougher” because I’ll be doing all my entry and editing on a cell phone. Please be patient. 🙂
Today was segment seven which is simply walking from Brekenridge to Copper over the Ten Mile range. Finally the kind of hiking I’m looking for. Alpine views! The hike was hard, 13.5 miles and 3500 feet of elevation change.
Unfortunately most of the pictures are obscured by smoke. Anyway I’m in my tent by a stream just outside of Coppers property. It’s getting chilly so I’ll post this and hit they hay, good night!
Thanks for your postings Dean! Stay safe out there!
