Woke up around three to the smell of smoke. Now, waking up at three is no big deal because I’m awake almost every hour. This is not a nice climate controlled bedroom. I’m usually cold and some body part has fallen asleap. Ug! Anyway, back to the smoke, is the smoke cloud from all the wildfres going to be with me today? Who knows, we’ll see.
The start of the day was mostly downhill. There was a trial crew working on the trail and I thanked them for there work. Passed an old WWII army installation, Camp Hale. Used for training the 10th Mountain Division. I’ll have to come back some day and explore.
Did come across a nice water fall
Not much in the way of scenery today, mostly hiking through beautiful pine forest. Camped in the forest next a stream, nice site. 15.3 miles and 1800 feet today.
You passed Camp Hale?! Now that is unexpected. Wow, I’ve heard of it for the past 20 years with respect to the 10th mountain division but didn’t know it still existed! Thanks for the picture. I’d really like to go explore there some day too!
Great pictures Dean! Thanks!
