Awake early and… oh wait, let’s just say never asleap, packed up and ready to go. I did not get a wink, each time I began to nod off I’d start gasping for air. Over and over again, position made no difference, even took another dose of my asthma medication. It was a rough night and I feel awfull.
Started hiking and I did not get into my normal rhythm, just not good. On top of that, the next 32 miles never really gets below 11000 ft and in a very remote area. I don’t know if I’m having issues from altitude, smoke, or whatever. I’m old enough to not take risks when I don’t need to. So called the support team for a pickup at Cottonwood Pass. Going to take a few days off at home.
Is it the end? No idea, now is not the time to decide. Rest first. “Never quit on a bad day.”
Good decision…you’re SMRT! Need everything in the game and working tip top shape! We support and believe in you Dean! XOX
Thanks Carrie!
Couldn’t help but notice how your selfies were starting to lose the smile from day 17 to day 20. Hope the home rest restores your energy!
A couple good nights of sleep and hearty meals and that smile will return. Hang in there Dean. You’ve already accomplished more than I would even consider trying.
Thanks my friend.
