Today’s highlight or challenge if you prefer, was up and over Lake Ann Pass. Up early, was up all night anyway, had to get out of the tent four times for bio reasons. It was cold, coldest yet maybe. Made me question why I was doing this. Breakfast, pack up and hit the trail.
On the way to the pass there were quite a few coming down from a nice weekend at Lake Ann. I choose not to camp up there for that very reason, probably too many people. There was even a bachelorette group camped up there.
One thing I have to say about Lake Ann Pass, scary! The trail going up was through talus and very skinny, a little unnerving for a man of a certain age with a big backpack on. I really don’t need this excitement anymore.
Made it over a down to a nice campsite by a stream. Pictures are again not great due to the smoke. It was really bad today.
