Late start, the shuttle in Lake City does not leave until 12:00. So, get breakfast and go hang out at the local park. Ended up with 14 hikers waiting for a ride. We packed 11 and backpacks into a Chevy Suburban, it was kind of fun and we all had a good time heading to the trailhead.
We get to the trailhead, unpack and untangle, then hike. Kind of a hard hike, not sure why. Not that steep etc. Legs did not want to wake up.
As I approached a possible camp area I heard what sounded like a party going on. It was still early so I was a little surprised. It was not a party, it was 1700 sheep in the trees doing what sheep do. Munching on grass and saying bahhh bahhh. There were about seven tents already setup in the area and the sheep hoard was slowly moving towards them. It was a little concerning but they simply walked around the people and tents and went on their merry way.
Oh, and this is also the section that I got a little lost, hurt my foot, and my right quad. I guess the wear and tear on my body is getting to me.
