Yup 400 miles all together.
Welp, another storm in the middle of the night, not as bad as the last one. My tent soaked up the water like a sponge and I had to go out and tighten it all up. I need a different tent! Got out in the morning and stuffed the soggy thing in its bag and headed out. Turned out to be a nice sunny day so I was able to dry it out. Look closely on the lower left of the following picture. You can see were I was camped.
Hiked through rolling sheep country. Didn’t see any sheep. Also came to the point where the Colorado trail and the Continental Divide Trail CT go thier separate ways.
Then it happened, came to one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Pictures don’t do it justice. This literally was the spot I was looking for and I was not disappointed, it was all worth it. Definitely have to go back someday.
From this point you go down, down alot and fast. Again pictures really can’t show how steep it was but there were a ton of switchbacks. After the switch backs it was a nasty, rough, rocky trail to finally arrive at camp. Slow going.
