It really never stopped raining. I waited as long as I could and then started packing up. Most of my stuff was a little damp, tent was absolutely soaked. I looked at the forecast and grimaced, not good. Pretty much wind and rain all day with a wintery mix at night. I’ve kind of been through this stuff before and knew I’d be ok but it would not be fun.
As I was getting ready to leave, Two Mile popped out of his tent and Juls was stirring. Two Mile did not look good either. Apparently his sleeping quilt was half soaked and his puffy also. Worse shape that I was in. With the forecast and no way to dry his stuff he was in trouble. After a bunch of discussion we both decided to head back to Silverton for another night and to dry out.
It was a miserable walk back to town, rain and wind. My rain gear did its job well and kept me warm. Cherie was able to get us a couple rooms for the night, so we were all set. Got to town, checked in, hung stuff to dry and, got more food. No pictures this time, it was just miserable.
Don’t let Dean fool you. He went back for more ribs!
The ribs were tasty!
